The Talent Magnet is PROUD to announce the arrival of the latest member of the MAGNET team...MAX CHARLEY KOPPELMAN ...aka "MUSHY"







Despite the fact that the economy is the worst it's been since 9/11...despite the fact that the Yankees are not in the world series...despite the fact that it costs me $75 to fill my car with gas...despite the fact that very few of my Clients are hiring...I am the HAPPIEST I have ever been!!!






The arrival of my Son Max has made all these challenges & stresses so much less important. In fact, if I did not ABSOLUTELY need to make money to pay my bills...I'd be at home with him everyday. The pure joy he has brought has put things into perspective. Suddenly, the job market (or lack there of) is less horrifying.






It is amazing how Max has changed my priorities & perspective immediately!!!

That being said, I have reluctantly returned to work - actively seeking out new career opportunities on behalf of the candidates I am representing!






The job market/recruitment "slow down" began in March & has continued to "limp" along.






In October of 2007, I had over 70 openings that I was actively recruiting for...currently, I have just a handful of SELECT spots. Employers have become even more specific about the educational background, skill set & personality type they are seeking in a new hire. So, despite the fact I receive in excess of 300 resumes a day - I am only able to represent a small fraction of those looking.

DO YOU THINK THE RECESSION IS OVER?

So...I guess we can all breathe a sigh of relief...according to the "experts"; we are coming out of the recession! Economists and leaders of industry are appearing on all types of news programs, websites and publications - declaring the end of this economic struggle. Apparently, some of the banks the government gave billions to - are beginning to show signs of stabilizing. In addition, "PRODUCTION" numbers look to be on the rise. However...UNEMPLOYMENT remains HIGH...and NEW CLAIMS are continuing to increase. The nearly 14 month period of DOWNSIZING, LAY-OFFS, RESTRUCTURING has resulted in the WORST JOB MARKET IN NEARLY 30 years! Yes...it does appear that the FIRING has slowed considerably.
