IT'S HOLIDAY SEASON...SHOULD I STOP LOOKING?
The year continues to fly by and we have moved into the final stretch for fourth quarter! Many candidates frequently ask about the status of their search and how many viable openings exist? Traditionally, from Thanksgiving to the New Year, the number of NEW opportunities decreases dramatically. Many companies have spent their 2005 budget and place hiring needs "on hold". You will hear HR tell you that they "don't have the headcount" or there is a "freeze" at the moment. This is a result of both financial and organizational structure. Companies function just like people do at this time of year. They reflect on the past year - take inventory of where they are at - look at short term & long term goals - and look to put a plan in place for growth and success in the coming year.
